No More "Terrorism"?
Janet Nepolitano, the new Homeland Security head has made her declaration that henceforth and forever more, at least under her reign, there will be no more "terrorism".
"Terrorism" will be known as "man-caused disaster" in her myopic little politically-correct world. This is, unfortunately, in keeping with the diminished focus of the Obama Administration on the entire arena ofterrorism man-caused disaster with the closing of Guantanamo and the declaration that we no longer have "enemy combatants".
This insidious change of direction will come to haunt our homeland. We cannot but be caused to diminish our focus on this tremendously important part of our daily lives given the lack of emphasis at the highest levels.
We are seeing a general lack of enthusiasm for ICE raids; in truth, ICE is being kicked in the shins for having finally learned how to do its job. The recent raid in Washington state is now under federal scrutiny because the lobby for theillegal immigrants undocumented immigrants has been so successful in turning the Democrats away from enforcement. The "lobby", by the way, includes the mainstream media that has resisted all efforts to make illegal immigrants out to be anything but poor Mexican citizens seeking to better their lives. How can we possibly be incensed about that?
We are not responding in anything but a muted tone to the threat that exists on our border with Mexico given the narco-terrorists' effort to take over that country.
We are like the proverbial ostrich in that we are, as a country, sticking our heads under the sand so as to not be disturbed by the world around us. That world around us can bite us; and, it will bite us given this lack of focus. We stayed safe under former-President Bush for a reason; he focused like a laser on that issue, and it worked.
At the risk of being thought "sexist", I can see several man-caused disasters (and woman-caused disasters) when I look at our government today and see the likes of Nepolitano in significant roles for which they are ill-prepared and ill-equipped given their positions on the subject of terrorism. Unfortunately, she personifies the phrase, "man-caused disaster".
Thanks President Obama for this wonderful addition to your senior staff.

Janet Nepolitano must think she is Mary Poppins and "practically perfect in every way" to be living where there is no terrorism. She and President Obama are like toddlers who cover their eyes and believe no one can see them.
How sad for our country. Our fears that we had with Obama regarding our country's safety are slowly coming true. By looking at the world through rose-colored glasses we are all going to be put at risk.
