The saga of Nancy Pelosi continues to unwind and she is, day-by-day, doing more and more harm to the Democrats' agenda.  She has become the "Albatross Named Nancy".

For all her political instincts, she has grossly miscalculated her ability to hang a flaming tire around the necks of the Republicans over "waterboarding".  Republicans probably are enjoying the debacle while it lasts because it is giving them just a little breathing room.

And Ms. Nancy just can't seem to get out of her own way; that is what happens when one begins spinning "tall tales".  Her California soul-mate from Congress and who now heads the CIA, Director Leon Panetta, has politely said in so many words, "we don't mislead Congress and we didn't do so over waterboarding".

Will she be forced to resign as Speaker of the House?  That is anyone's guess at this point, but the hallways of Congress are buzzing with that talk.

She has a lot of repairing to do and that is difficult when you persist in the lie that got you to the point you're at.  There are politicians and there are statesmen; one of those she isn't.
