If Obama had not gone, and Chicago did not get the Olympics, the phony outrage would have been twice as loud.

Comment on Treasurer Dawn Sass

Add to the fact that she fired the deputy treasurer and replaced him with a highway worker is just the cherry on the sundae.

Comment on Public Health Plan Not Threatening?

The exemption of congress and federal employees from these health plans says a lot about how good these plans will be. Why isn't the media and plan foes making an issue of this?

Comment on An Albatross Named Nancy

Stick a fork in her - she is done. I give her about another two weeks. Pretty rare to select a new speaker mid-stream, but she will either be replaced as speaker, or she'll just be a figurehead.

Comment on Pakistan? Iran?

On what concrete evidence do you base your statement that "Iran will be only too happy to export that terrorist tool, if it doesn't use those weapons first to annihilate Israel" ?

According to the most recent National Intelligence Estimate (http://www.inss.org.il/research.php?cat=3&incat=&read=2754 )
there is no evidence that Iran has restarted its nuclear weapons making program since it halted operations in 2003. Further, there has been absolutely no evidence that Iran has any intention to "export" nuclear technology. Iran views possession of nuclear weapons as a vital national security issue, not as a means to supply rogue terrorist groups. Iran is a stable state with every interest in self-preservation. There is no reason to believe the Iranian government has interest in putting that in jeopardy. Ahmadinejad's anti-Israeli comments have not intimated military aggression towards the Jewish state, only Iran's view that the Israeli settlements are the result of a series of illegal land-grabs, beginning with the 1947 UN resolution 181 creating Israel. Further, Israeli PM Netanyahu has served up many disparaging remarks towards Iran, including comparing the nation to Germany circa 1938.

Your baseless commentary on the Iranian nuclear issue is yet another example of the avalanche of misinformation that perpetuates in the American media circus. Until we (Westerners, and specifically Americans) begin to listen to the rest of the, inform our opinions, and deal in facts and truth rather than pushing agendas and spinning hyperbole there is little hope for an improved climate of international relations.

Comment on No More "Terrorism"?

Janet Nepolitano must think she is Mary Poppins and "practically perfect in every way" to be living where there is no terrorism. She and President Obama are like toddlers who cover their eyes and believe no one can see them.

How sad for our country. Our fears that we had with Obama regarding our country's safety are slowly coming true. By looking at the world through rose-colored glasses we are all going to be put at risk.

Comment on Congress Beyond Trust?

Al - I think the thing that needs to happen is that we need term limits on Congress. The whole reason for these wasteful earmarks is to get these guys re-elected. 1 term in the senate and 2 in the house.
These would immediately eliminate the Barney Franks and Chuck Rangels of the world who are only there to line their own greedy pockets.

Comment on Arlen, Olympia & Susan

Nice job on this one Al.
